On April 20, the Penn State Extensions Master Gardeners of Lebanon County will begin hosting virtual “office hours” for county residents to discuss questions related to home gardening, according to an April press release.
Though the offices in Lebanon County are closed to in-person visits, the Master Gardeners – trained volunteers who answer questions for the public, alongside other duties – will be available to speak with home gardeners via Zoom or conference call. The hours themselves will be scheduled on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. and on Thursdays from 2 to 3 p.m., beginning on April 20.
Topics that the Master Gardeners are well-suited for include plant and insect identification, tree and lawn care, pests and disease, and any other general gardening questions.
To schedule an appointment, interested residents should call the Penn State Extension office at (717) 270-4391; the office will provide a link to the Zoom meeting (accessible via computer, tablet, or smartphone) or a phone number to call. Questions can also be emailed to Master Gardeners at LebanonMG@psu.edu.
Outside of answering questions for the public, Master Gardeners also speak at events, prepare and maintain demonstration gardens for viewing, organize symposiums and exhibits, and work with 4-H projects, according to the Lebanon County Penn State Extension Facebook page.
