Historic Schaefferstown is hosting an afternoon tea for garden enthusiasts, anyone interested in learning to make natural dyes and, well, folks who like tea.
The Afternoon Garden Tea on the Farm will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Alexander Schaeffer House and Farm, 213 S. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown. Suggested donation is $5.
The rain-or-shine event includes an heirloom garden walk, a presentation by Suzanne Fry on using plants to make natural dyes, a visit to the dry house, information on heritage farm animals, and a display of gardening books. Refreshments will be available, and heirloom seeds will be for sale.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs.
According to the Historic Schaefferstown Inc. website, guests are also asked to wear a mask. The tour will be self-guided to encourage social distancing.
