The Lebanon County Conservation District will have a spotted lanternfly field day on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Quittapahilla Educational Wetland Preserve.
The event is for members of the Lebanon community, and it will be drop-in style.
The wetland preserve is located at 833 Metro Drive, Lebanon, across from Lebanon County Prison.
During the field day, the organizations will showcase measures that they took on their properties against spotted lanternflies, which can then be adopted by residents on their own land.
Some of the information that will be covered at the event includes broad information about spotted lanternflies and ways to fight against them, as well as a circle trap tutorial.
In addition to the conservation district and wetland preserve, Penn State Extension and Olivia Bingeman, the mosquito-borne disease control program coordinator for Lebanon and Lancaster counties, will be in attendance at the event to answer residents’ questions.
Free traps will be given to 150 members of the Lebanon community on a first-come, first-served basis. One trap per household.
