Schaefferstown Emergency Medical Services received a $4,448 grant from pipeline operator Energy Transfer for two new Automatic External Defibrillator devices.
The grant was formally awarded at a Thursday, June 23, ceremony.
“This grant from Energy Transfer allowed us to purchase two automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, which will help outfit a much-needed new ambulance,” said Loren Miller, Schaefferstown EMS operations chief, in a press release.
“This is critical equipment that will help us better-protect our communities.”
One AED will go into the department’s new ambulance, and the other will go into an existing quick-response SUV.
“We are honored to partner with Schaefferstown EMS and to support them through funding for these two AEDs,” said Josh Snyder, lead specialist for public affairs at Energy Transfer.
