Cornwall Manor announced Monday, Oct. 10, that Harry A. McConnell has replaced Lee A. Stickler as president and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 3, following Stickler’s retirement.
Stickler took the position in March 2019 when then-CEO Steven D. Hassinger retired and proceeded to lead Cornwall Manor through the COVID-19 pandemic. Stickler was first hired at Cornwall Manor in November 1988 as vice president for finance and promoted to executive vice president in January 2018.
Most recently, Stickler oversaw the start of $34 million in development projects on the retirement community’s campus.

“Lee has done a fantastic job helping create our strategic growth as well as spearheading many financial and operational successes, including the most challenging years we have experienced to date due to the COVID pandemic,” said board chairman Timothy D. Sheffey in a press release. “We are extremely grateful to Lee for his nearly 34 years of outstanding leadership and committed service to Cornwall Manor.”

McConnell, now the seventh president of Cornwall Manor, was previously the executive director of Normandy Farm Estates, a faith-based not-for-profit retirement community in Blue Bell. McConnell also worked for 25 years with Peter Becker Community in Harleysville, where he ultimately served as chief operating officer.
“We are confident with the appointment of Harry McConnell as Lee Stickler’s successor,” said Sheffey. “Harry has a proven track record of strong leadership and effective management skills, has great energy and outstanding operational results which will be critical strengths as he leads the community in the years to come.”
