PennDOT contractors will begin a 1.5-mile resurfacing project on Route 419 (Main Street) in Millcreek Township on Monday, March 6.
The project runs from Fort Zellers Road to the Berks County line. Work will be ongoing weekly Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists should expect lane restrictions while work is taking place.
In addition to resurfacing, the project also includes drainage improvements, ADA ramps, guide rail updates, and other miscellaneous construction. JVI Group Inc. of York Springs is the prime contractor.
Contractors will begin on Monday with drainage improvements, to be followed soon after by starting working on ADA curb ramps.
The $1.7 million project is expected to be completed by Nov. 2. The work is unrelated to the recent purchase of a 140-acre farm property in the area by John F. Martin and Sons LLC for a large-scale warehouse.
