The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board will accept sealed bids in its auction for 20 expired restaurant licenses – including one in the City of Lebanon – through Monday, Sept. 25.
The minimum bid is $25,000, and each bid requires surety of the higher between $5,000 or 5% of the bid amount. In the previous two license auctions, held in November 2022 and June 2020 respectively, a Lebanon city license was purchased for $151,000 and a South Lebanon Township license was purchased for $102,000.
Bidder questions can be sent to RA-LBLicenseAuction@pa.gov before 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25. A FAQ document will be posted by 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29.
The 11 previous expired restaurant license auctions have led to the state recognizing more than $36 million in revenue (with a small portion of that escrowed pending license approval).
