The Annville Township Board of Commissioners hosted a routine meeting this month, where it adopted two ordinances, updated its Property Maintenance Code, and announced updates to upcoming Annville events.
A motion to adopt Ordinance 687, also known as the Omnibus Ordinance, was unanimously passed. The ordinance pertains to parking enforcement and mirrors Palmyra Borough’s restrictions.
The board also unanimously approved the adoption of Ordinance 688, which is known as the Rental License Ordinance. The updated ordinance allows police to respond faster to disruptive behavior and conduct. The Rental License Ordinance also follows the Palmyra Borough Code of Ordinances.
Both ordinances were adopted to allow for a smoother transition to the merged police department between the Annville Township and Palmyra Borough police departments. (View the full Annville Township Code of Ordinances here.)
The board of commissioners also unanimously approved a motion to update the township Property Maintenance Code from the 2012 version to the 2018 version.
The current maintenance requirements are posted on the township website. The updated code appoints township manager Candie Johnson as the code enforcement officer.

After reporting the recent updates on Annville activities, commissioners unanimously approved a motion to work with township solicitor Corey Lamoureux to update the fee schedule, which will include submittals for subdivision and land development plans.
Also at the meeting, commissioners unanimously passed motions to:
- Support placement of portable toilets at new pickleball courts on East Maple Street.
- Approve Travis Long to work full-time at Annville Township Public Works.
- Seek bids to update ADA ramps and paving projects around the township.
- Approve fire police to assist at the Annville-Cleona Council of Churches Community Cross Walk event on Friday, March 29.
- Approve a lease agreement for the parking lot at Annville Youth Fields.
- Loan a table and chairs to Lebanon Community Theatre.
- Amend the agenda to reflect the portable toilet topic under the public works section and an executive session held prior to the start of the meeting under the reports of special committees section.
- Approve the reports of standing and special committees, the February meeting minutes and payment of the monthly bills.
The Board of Commissioners of Annville Township meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held in the township building at 36 N. Lancaster St. and are open to the public. Next month’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2.
