Mount Gretna will host two events on Saturday, Sept. 14, to raise funds for two nonprofit organizations.

The annual Blood, Sweat, and Tears Run, which benefits the Emily Whitehead Foundation, will start for walkers and runners alike at 9 a.m. Saturday. The timed event features 5K, five-mile, and 10-mile courses located behind Mount Gretna Lake on Timber Road.

This year’s run honors Mike McCauley and his legacy as an ultramarathoner who raised awareness and funds for pediatric cancer.

Registration is now open for the event, which also includes a pre-run warmup, door prizes, a raffle, music, and Smoky Flavors BBQ. For more information, contact Tom Garrett by phone at 717-315-7228 or email at tgarrett7@msn.com.

New this year is the Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show, which benefits the Mount Gretna Community Volunteer Fire Company. The rain-or-shine show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Soldiers Field near Timber and Valley roads.

Pre-registration (by Sept. 1) for all years, makes, and models is $15 and includes a dash plaque. Registration will also be available on the day of the show from 8 to 11 a.m. for $20. Other donations from the event will be used to purchase battery-operated tools for the new Rescue Engine.

The event also includes prizes, music by The Wing Nutz, food trucks, and other vendors. For more information, contact Larry Mann by phone at 717-222-8326 or email at lsm1425@aol.com.
