The Hershey Community Chorus will hold its first meeting of the spring season, the Open House and Test Drive First Rehearsal, on Monday, Jan. 13, at the Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown.

Registration and fellowship begins at 6 p.m., followed by a rehearsal from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The chorus, founded in 1934, is marking its 90th year of performance. Members rehearse regularly from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays under the direction of Matt Dickinson, a music teacher at Lower Dauphin Middle School, with Karen Kline as accompanist. No auditions are held, a press release notes, with the only requirement being a love of singing traditional choral music.

The season culminates with spring concerts at 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, at The Hershey Story Museum, and 7 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at The Hershey Free Church. This year, the spring concerts will feature patriotic music selections connected to 1934-35 years in some way, such as composers or performers who were born or passed that year, works released, concerts presented, or founding of groups.
