Municipal reporting
Jackson Township moves forward on paving walking paths in public parks
The township is putting together a phasing plan for Wheatland Woods to do the walking path, entrance, and parking area. Supervisors also approved a paving project at Jackson Meadows that will introduce about 150 square yards of path.
Jackson Township takes steps to repair East Main Avenue Bridge
The bridge is still safe to use, but a 2023 report suggested fixing the scour and adding rock protection to help avoid future bank erosion.
Jackson Township submits permits for improved crosswalk, traffic lights
The traffic light project is expected to cost about $29,000, and the crosswalk system was quoted at around $9,200. Both payments will likely come from the general fund, according to supervisor Thomas Houtz.
Jackson Twp. supervisors to purchase used pick-up truck for township fleet
The 2016 truck has about 98,000 miles on it and will cost the township $14,999. Supervisors said it’s needed because their current zoning officer is more active in driving around the area.
